War Zone
War Zone is a sim wide event taking place at Hambone Slash on a somewhat regular basis, every first and third Saturday of each month at 3pm PDT. There are several different play styles focused on group cooperation. Teamwork is the key to playing a good game, cooperation will ensure victory.
Core Rules
In order for groups to participate in any War Zone event several conditions must be met.
- Groups must be well known established groups within Second Life and The Wastelands. That is, they must be a month old at least, and acknowledged as contributing players in The Wastelands.
- All groups must have at LEAST three people representing them at War Zone.
- Your group must be ON TIME. Anyone who isn't there when group role call is declared, will be considered a spectator for the event and not allowed to participate.
- Once role call is made, and people are tallied for groups, you may not participate for another group without taking a months break for a "transitional period". For instance, if you were in group A, and wanted to join group B, you are not allowed to participate in War Zone as group B until you've been out of group A for an entire month. This prevents people from flip flopping on groups, and encourages groups to make sure their groups are worth staying in.
- Currently there is no maximum cap on participating players representing a group, however this rule will change to accommodate the situation.
Group Fights
Group fights are all groups vs each other to the death. Participants start in various locations in the sim, spectators stay in the safety of the Potato Farm Arena. The game starts at a certain time designated by the host, and runs until a single group is left. When you are defeated, you will be teleported to the spectator area by the host, and considered out of the game. The last groups remaining wins.
Carry The Flag
Carry the flag is a variant of capture the flag. All teams start on the outer edges of the sims, and a single flag is placed in the center of the sim. Teams are then told to "Go!". As soon as someone touches the flag, the flag-timer begins. The objective it to carry the flag as long as possible for the duration of the ten minutes. You can steal the flag from another person if you're close enough, but beware you and many others are trying to get the flag. If you are defeated, you may get back in the game once your death penalties are over. At the end of the ten minutes, individual times are calculated and and counted towards each teams total. The team with the highest total time is declared the winner.
